How to Get All Secret Endings

There are five possible endings in Alone in the Dark. These include two standard endings, one for Emily and one for Edward, and three secret endings, which can only be unlocked after completing specific sets of Lagniappes. This guide will explain everything you need to know about unlocking each secret ending in Alone in the Dark.

Radical Acceptance Ending - Emily Only
If you have completed the Dying with Dignity Lagniappe set, which requires a playthrough with both Emily and Edward, you can use Paint Thinner on your uncle's painting. It can be found on the wooden sideboard opposite the wardrobe in the small room behind the secret door in Dr. Gray's office.
After you've wiped away the painting, continue the story until you've defeated . Once defeated, you'll enter a cutscene in which the Dark Man approaches you.
Now, once Emily draws her gun and utters the sentence, "What else can I do?!", time will briefly slow down, and you'll want to push the Left Stick Down and the Right Stick Up. From our testing, we found that you need to do these actions quickly, and it works best if you're attempting these actions just before Emily finishes speaking. If Emily is lowering her weapon and raising her hand, don't stop holding, otherwise you'll miss your opportunity to trigger this ending.
If you're successful, Emily will lower her weapon and submit to the Dark Man as she kneels before him.
The cutscene that follows implies that Emily survived the Dark Man and must now undergo therapy, as when she closes her eyes, she finds herself in the Dark Man's temple, surrounded by Ruth, Grace, and several other hooded and masked figures.
Despite the disturbing scene, Emily shares that she's no longer afraid of him. Achieving this ending will unlock the Radical Acceptance trophy.

What Just Happened Ending - Edward Only
If you're playing as Edward and you have completed the All the World's a Stage Lagniappe set, which requires a playthrough with both Emily and Edward, you'll have the opportunity to give Grace a gift as she's preparing for the ritual in Chapter 5.
Giving Grace the gift will trigger a cutscene that sees her and Edward leaving the Alone in the Dark play that's showing at the theater near the Docks that we visited in Chapter 3.
After a short and rather friendly conversation, Emily will also appear. Interestingly enough, Edward will refer to himself and Emily as Grace's parents.
While we're unsure if this ending is merely a vision or a real reality, it does appear that the trio is happy and, most importantly, safe from the dangers that lurk at Derceto.
One could also assume that this ending is the true reality and that Emily and Edward are, in fact, Grace's parents, and the play they just watched—which they describe as somewhat confusing at times—could be a reference to everything you just played through. Considering how the other endings play out, it would be nice to imagine that this is the case.

To get started, when you arrive back at Derceto at the beginning of Chapter 4, you'll have the opportunity to give the large tree in the Conservatory an offering if you have completed the A Goat Without Horns Lagniappe set.
Upon doing so, you'll need to wait until "she" calls upon you, which will happen during the cutscene that occurs in Chapter 5 when opting to pass time and wait for Emily.
The cutscene will play out as normal; however, as Emily appears and shoots Batiste in the leg, time will slow. Here, you'll want to press L3 and push it left, causing Edward to look towards Grace. This will see Edward siding with the cult group and killing Grace.
Screaming at Emily to run, she quickly rushes out of the Conservatory and leaves via Edward's vehicle, only to learn that Ruth is also tagging along as she escapes Derceto.
