Safe Locations and Combinations

Four safes can be found and opened in Alone in the Dark. These safes are located in areas visited during the main story, so they are relatively easy to find and stumble across. But unless you know their combination codes, which are often deciphered from clues, you may not be able to open the safe. Thankfully, we have provided the locations and combination solutions needed to open all safes in Alone in the Dark.
All Safe Locations and Combination Codes
All safe combination codes in Alone in the Dark feature the letters L or R followed by a number. In short, L and R represent the direction—Left and Right—in which you must turn the dial to the indicated number on the safe.

To get the key to Gray’s Office, you'll need to open the safe found at the back of the Clerk’s Room. The code is L9 R1 L3, which is revealed in Cassandra's Last Page note.
If you open this safe during Chapter 2, you'll unlock the Alone in the Dark Lagniappe.

Inside the Pregzt Shipping Company warehouse, go up the stairs to the second floor and enter the office. Pick up the All His Things clue from the cabinet drawer along the wall to discover the combination. Now, enter the following code to open the safe: L4 R5 L4. Open the safe to get the Cargo Manifesto.

You'll find a safe located within the Empty Room. But before you can open it, you'll need to solve a puzzle.
The puzzle can be solved by ripping off the wallpaper and matching the numbers to Edwards Detective ID. The code is L6 R9 L2. Inside the safe, you can pick up a coin.
Empty Room Safe - Emily Only

Located within the Empty Room, a safe with the code L9 R1 L8 can be opened. A clue on the wall provides a hint to the safe's combination, but you'll unveil the full code when examining the A Long Engagement ring in Emily's Inventory. Inside the safe, you can pick up a flashbulb.
Unfortunately, two playthroughs (one with Emily and one with Edward) are required to unlock the You Can't Keep Me Out trophy. Our comprehensive walkthrough guide provides further details on where to find locked doors.
